Programmatic and Operational Leadership

Desiree was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA.  She began her journey at Latino Health Access in 2020; when she joined the Covid-19 Call Center and Registration team, it was love at first sight.  Being in the front lines, she heard firsthand the issues in our communities and provided the much-needed resources.

Before joining LHA, she worked 21yrs for SEIU Justice for Janitors. She was helping membership navigate difficult situations and fight for justice. She likes to volunteer in various nonprofits and churches, specifically children's programs.  

Her passion for justice began out of necessity when her husband passed, and she needed to help her son regain life and rebuild their lives after losing everything.

Her heart is her degree, and it is what has fueled her to continue to help even when she feels she doesn't know-how.
