Dr. Patricia J. Cantero

Director of Evaluation


Dr. Cantero has 29 years of experience working in health education and prevention research projects among Latinos in San Diego, Orange and Los Angeles Counties.  As Director of Evaluation, she plans, organizes and designs methods to measure process and impact of health education and community engagement programs; applies basic analytical and statistical methods; makes recommendations to operating management on program information needs and program goals, methods and findings.  Analyzes data and reports results and recommendations to staff and funders.  Trains staff on evaluation topics and is the evaluation-liaison in research projects.

She earned her doctoral degree in Preventive Medicine from the University of Southern California and obtained a B.A. in Psychology from the California State University, San Diego. Patricia was born and raised in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.  She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening and reading predominantly Spanish novels.
