Healthy Eating, Active Communities      (HEAC) Internship

“Youth In Action” Youth Group Leader                                                              10-12 hours a week (flexible), T/W/Th afternoons                                 Position Available Immediately

The Policy Department at Latino Health Access is searching for an intern to work with the Health Eating, Active Communities (HEAC) youth group “Youth In Action”.  HEAC, a state-wide, multi-site initiative of The California Endowment, works to develop and promote policies that create a healthy, safe Santa Ana. In partnership with HEAC partners Santa Ana Unified School District and the Orange County Health Care Agency, Latino Health Access has recruited a group of local young men and women ages 11-15 to work on identifying health issues prevalent in their community and developing possible policy solutions. The Youth in Action intern will work closely with the Youth Coordinator and the HEAC Site Coordinator to plan activities, field trips, lesson plans, projects etc focused on healthy eating, active living, and public safety.

The ideal candidate is a current college student, available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday afternoons (approx. 3:30-6:30pm) with a background in Health Policy, Public Policy, Child Development, etc.
